In an interview with Tabnak, Siroos Ghafourianfar said:

The specialized group of mayors and council members was created based on the needs of the community of mayors.

The head of the specialized group of mayors and members of the Islamic Council of the country’s cities told Tabnak: “The formation of this group has been a vacuum in this field, based on recognizing and in accordance with the needs of the community of mayors.”

He added: “Long ago, the mayors of different cities and the members of the Islamic Council of Cities, who are often members of the Iranian Association of Experts, proposed this group and finally, with the consent of the Secretary General of the Association, the formation of this group was entrusted to the Cultural and Art Asre Goftego Qalam Institute.

The head of the specialized group of mayors and members of the Islamic Council of the country’s cities stated: Dr. Nasser Haj Mohammadi, who is one of the experienced mayors in different cities of Iran, has been in charge of the executive management, organization of its members. Membership and formation of the database of mayors and members of the Islamic Council of Cities will begin online on November 6, and the first symposium of mayors will be on the agenda of this group before the end of the year.

Mr. Ghafourianfar “further announced the holding of special training and specialized courses in urban management in the near future and in this regard said:” We will use experts and international experts in the field of urban management and holding these courses will improve the level of knowledge. ” It will be scientific and experimental for city managers, while all participants in specialized training courses will be awarded valid certificates by the relevant authorities.
