Date: October 4–11, 2025
The 18th Training and Legal Program in France and Germany was organized under the theme:
“Reviewing Challenges and Risks in International Commercial Contracts – Crisis Management and Adaptation During Economic Recession.”
France – Paris
Date: October 6, 2025
Morning Session:
On the morning of Monday, October 6, the Iranian business delegation visited the National Assembly of France.
During this visit, a meeting was held with Ms. Aïda Hadizadeh, President of the France–Iran Friendship Association at the National Assembly.
The discussions focused on strengthening friendly relations between Iranian and European, particularly French, private sector representatives. It was emphasized that high-quality Iranian products have gained strong popularity in the French market over recent years.
Afternoon Session:
The seminar commenced at 13:30 in one of the historic conference halls of the Paris City Hall. Senator Sophie Briant Guillemont welcomed the Iranian business delegation to France, expressing an optimistic outlook on commercial interactions between the two countries. She highlighted that the longstanding friendship between the Iranian and French business communities has led to Iranian products being available in French supermarkets.
The speakers addressed various topics related to international commercial contracts in succession:
Ms. Mina Alavash, Mr. Baki Maneche, and Mr. Jean Charles Albitre.
The first speaker, Ms. Mina Alavash, focused on essential considerations in drafting international commercial contracts. She explained that contract drafting begins with preliminary agreements and notes taken before and after business negotiations. These initial drafts and agreements at the negotiation table ultimately lead to the formal contract. Ms. Alavash emphasized the importance of using precise legal and technical terminology in memorandums of understanding due to their legal implications. She further highlighted that those three sections constitute the core of contract drafting:
- The obligations of the parties
- Payment terms and delivery arrangements
- Identification of authorized signatories of the memorandum or contract
These components, she noted, are critical for effective and legally sound contract drafting.
Following her presentation, Mr. Baki Maneche and Mr. Jean Charles Albitre welcomed the Iranian industrial and business delegation and continued the session with in-depth discussions on dispute resolution, arbitration, contract termination and its consequences, and force majeure clauses.
During the Q&A session, participants raised questions on various issues such as:
- Financial problems in case of non-payment
- Product delivery standards (quality and timely supply according to the buyer’s request)
- Payment conditions (clarifying that all payments are made on specific dates unless otherwise agreed)
- Transportation logistics from different ports
All questions were thoroughly addressed by the speakers.
